City Council Meeting of March 17, 2008 <br />Page 7 of 8 <br />LONGEST MARRIED COUPLE CLARENCE IN THE WORLD AND MAYME VAIL - <br />GUINESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS <br />Council Member Haas added this item to the agenda. Long-time Hugo residents, Clarence and <br />Mayme Vail, have official been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records to be the <br />World's longest married couple. The Vails have been married for 83 years and now reside in <br />Comforts of Home in White Bear Lake. Clarence turned 100 years old in 2006, and Mayme will <br />be 100 next month. <br />SCHEDULE NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING FOR STREET RECONSTRUCTION IN <br />THE HUGO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEIGHBORHOOD <br />After the successful public hearing held by Council on February 25, 2008, staff would like to <br />schedule another neighborhood meeting for those residents in the Hugo Elementary <br />Neighborhood to discuss the 2008 street reconstruction project. City staff requested Council <br />select a date on which to hold another neighborhood meeting in which the residents will be <br />further informed of the newly adopted Street Assessment Policy which would allow the city to <br />proceed with the reconstruction project. Council directed staff to schedule a neighborhood <br />meeting with the Mayor and Council Member Puleo. <br />SCHEDULE COUNCIL PORTRAIT SESSON FOR APRIL 7, 2008 PRIOR TO THE <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />Over the past several months, City staff has been working with Council Members in order to take <br />a Council picture to be displayed in the lobby of the Hugo City Hall. City staff requested <br />Council schedule a brief portrait session prior to the April 7, 2008 Council meeting at which <br />Building Inspector Scott Baller will take an official City Council portrait. <br />Petryk made motion, Haas seconded, to schedule the portrait session for 6:30 p.m. on April 7, <br />2008, prior to the regular Council meeting. <br />All aye. Motion carried. <br />APRIL 1-12 SWAT TRAINING EXERCISE AT THE RICE LAKE PARK BUILDING <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson added this item to the agenda. Stillwater Correctional Facility <br />has requested use of the Rice Lake Park Building to conduct Special Operation Response Team <br />(SORT) training. Staff will send notice to property owners with % mile to inform them of the <br />activities which would be occurring between April 1 and April 12, 2008. <br />Puleo made motion, Petryk seconded, to permit training to occur at the Rice Lake Park Building <br />between April 1 and April 12, 2008 <br />
