The current ordinance regarding junk vehicles states
that it is a nuisance for any property to have more than two junk vehicles on it at a time. The
ordinance simply states that each property in the City is allowed to store no more than two junk
vehicles. A junk vehicle is defined as a vehicle that is required to be licensed to operate on public
roads, but is not. The proposed ordinance will not allow junk vehicles on properties in the urban area
of the City that are developed. Properties that meet certain criteria will be allowed to store no more
than two junk vehicles and the vehicles shall be adequately screened from adjacent properties. Staff
requested direction from the Council on the process to amend the ordinance
Puleo made motion, Haas seconded, to table the item to allow the subcommittee to review the
revised ordinance, and direct the Planning Commission to hold a public hearing on it once it was
approved by the subcommittee.
All aye.
