City Council Meeting of July 7, 2008 Page 2 of 10 Donation to Hugo Relief Fund from Running Aces — Jeff Halpern and Tom Fox On Friday, June 27, 2008, Mayor Fran Miron accepted a $2,700 donation from Running Aces Harness Track in the City of Columbus. General Manager Bob Farinella as well as founders Jeff Halpern and Tom Fox were in attendance to present the check to the Council. The Mayor stated that it was a gift from the patrons of Running Aces to the Hugo Relief Fund for those who suffered loss from the May 25, 2008 tornado disaster. Bob talked about the racing program, which ended for the season on Sunday, saying there was good attendance and participation. The card room opened this week and the restaurant was available for dining. The Mayor accepted the donation on behalf of the Hugo Relief Fund and thanked the patrons of Running Aces for their generosity. Approve Permit Application for use of Hardwood Creek Trail for Wilson Tool 5K Fun Run on August 9, 2008 City staff has received an application from Wilson Tool for its annual 5K run scheduled for Saturday, August 9, 2008. As Council is aware, an application has already been submitted and approved by the Washington County Parks Department for the official use of the trail for this 5K Fun Run. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the permit application for the use of Washington County's Hardwood Creek Trail for the Wilson Tool 5K Fun Run on Saturday, August 9, 2008.
