Hugo City Council Minutes for December 15, 2008 <br />Page 6 of 11 <br />Elementary Park, Oneka Elementary Park, Arbre Park, Heritage Ponds Park, and the Rice Lake Center <br />Athletic Complex. Pete's volunteer work with the City of Hugo goes beyond the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission to the Hugo Lions club where he plays a very active role in serving the community. In <br />short, Pete Pedersen has been active and integral member of the Commission that has accomplished <br />many goals in his ten years of service to the City. <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2008-56 RECOGNIZING PETE <br />PEDERSEN FOR HIS TEN YEARS OF DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE ON THE PARKS, <br />RECREATION, AND OPEN SPACE COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA. <br />Ayes: Puleo, Haas, Granger, Petryk, Miron <br />Nay: None <br />Motion carried. <br />Recognition of Retirements of Council Member Frank Puleo and Council Member Mike Granger <br />Council Member Frank Puleo and Council Member Mike Granger were elected to the Hugo City <br />Council in the 2000 elections and sworn in at the January 2, 2001 Council meeting. Over the past eight <br />years, both Mike and Frank worked on numerous public improvement projects involving the new City <br />Hall and new Public Works building as well as a number of other public improvement projects, <br />including new water tower and watermain extensions. A significant number of new neighborhoods were <br />platted during this time and hundreds of new homes and thousands of new residents came to the City of <br />Hugo over the past eight years. Both Mike and Frank served on a number of committees and <br />subcommittees authorized by the Hugo City Council to address numerous neighborhood and citizen <br />interest issues. A creation of a number of new businesses in the Bald Eagle Industrial Park and Peloquin <br />Industrial Park as well as a number of new retail and commercial businesses that have come to the City <br />of Hugo are a result of concern for the community, concern for the citizens, and concern for the business <br />owners. Mike and Frank's dedication to the City of Hugo is recognized by the residents, business <br />owners, and service organizations. <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2008-57 RECOGNIZING FRANK <br />PULEO FOR HIS ELEVEN YEARS OF DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE ON THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION & CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA <br />Ayes: Haas, Granger, Petryk, Miron <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Puleo <br />Motion carried. <br />Miron made motion, Puleo seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2008-58 RECOGNIZING MIKE <br />GRANGER FOR HIS EIGHT YEARS OF DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE ON THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA. <br />Ayes: Petryk, Puleo, Haas, Miron <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Granger <br />Motion carried. <br />
