Inflow — Reducing inflow will be done by enforcing an ordinance banning <br />illegal connections to the sanitary sewer system and public <br />education to encourage voluntary compliance. <br />C. Infiltration — Reducing infiltration will be done by routine maintenance <br />and inspection found in section 2 of this policy. Manholes will <br />be inspected every three years by the city employees and those <br />that contribute to the problem will be repaired. <br />5. Training <br />Training on proper use of equipment and procedures to follow will be <br />provided by the city for those employees that will be involved in routine <br />maintenance and emergency responses on a regular basis. <br />6. Work Schedule for City Employees <br />At the discretion of the Public Works Director, public works employees will <br />be expected to work eight hour shifts Monday - Friday from October 1 st — <br />March 31st. Ten hour shifts will begin April lst — September 3& with one half <br />of the city employees working Monday — Thursday and the other one half <br />working Tuesday — Friday. In emergency situations employees sometimes <br />have to work over- time, but may be limited to over time hours do to budget <br />and safety concerns. <br />7. Weather Conditions <br />Sewer maintenance operations will be conducted only when weather <br />conditions do not endanger the safety of City employees and equipment. <br />Factors that may delay sewer maintenance operations include severe cold, <br />flooding, snow and wind. <br />8. Documentation <br />The City will document all sanitary sewer system inspections, maintenance, <br />emergency responses and any circumstances where something has occurred <br />that limits the compliance with this policy. These records will be kept in <br />accordance with the City's record retention schedule. <br />ADOPTED BY THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL ON OCTOBER 1, 2007. <br />
