Inflow — Reducing inflow will be done by enforcing an ordinance banning illegal connections to the sanitary sewer system and public education to encourage voluntary compliance. C. Infiltration — Reducing infiltration will be done by routine maintenance and inspection found in section 2 of this policy. Manholes will be inspected every three years by the city employees and those that contribute to the problem will be repaired. 5. Training Training on proper use of equipment and procedures to follow will be provided by the city for those employees that will be involved in routine maintenance and emergency responses on a regular basis. 6. Work Schedule for City Employees At the discretion of the Public Works Director, public works employees will be expected to work eight hour shifts Monday - Friday from October 1 st — March 31st. Ten hour shifts will begin April lst — September 3& with one half of the city employees working Monday — Thursday and the other one half working Tuesday — Friday. In emergency situations employees sometimes have to work over- time, but may be limited to over time hours do to budget and safety concerns. 7. Weather Conditions Sewer maintenance operations will be conducted only when weather conditions do not endanger the safety of City employees and equipment. Factors that may delay sewer maintenance operations include severe cold, flooding, snow and wind. 8. Documentation The City will document all sanitary sewer system inspections, maintenance, emergency responses and any circumstances where something has occurred that limits the compliance with this policy. These records will be kept in accordance with the City's record retention schedule. ADOPTED BY THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL ON OCTOBER 1, 2007.
