Visual Inspection — A visual inspection of the sanitary sewer <br />lines will be done every three years by looking down the <br />manholes to determine if there are any problems by City <br />employees. <br />7. Flushing Inspection — Every dead end manhole will be flushed <br />every three years to clean out the sanitary sewer line and <br />determine if there are any problems with flow. <br />B. Sanitary Sewer Lift Stations — <br />1. Schedule — A monthly maintenance checklist on each lift station will <br />be done by the City and may differ at each lift station. Monthly <br />checklist include checking all alarms, alarm lights, floats, <br />control systems, motors, piping, sump pump operation, <br />blower/air exchange system, transducer, bubbler, air <br />compressor and greasing. <br />2. Electrical Component — Lift station electrical components will be <br />inspected and maintained by an electrician annually. <br />3. Operations — The hour meters at each lift station will be checked on <br />a daily basis to ensure the lift stations are working properly and <br />to detect any problems in the system. The City also uses a <br />SCADA system to monitor all lift stations. <br />3. Emeraenev Response <br />A. Definition — Response to a call from an alarm, employee or citizen that <br />indicates there is a problem in the sanitary sewer system. <br />B. Response — After being notified about the problem, a City employee will <br />respond within one hour to determine if there is a problem with <br />the City's sanitary sewer system. If a problem does exist the <br />employee will remedy the problem by himself / herself, other <br />City employees or contractor. <br />4. Inflow / Infiltration <br />A. Definitions — Inflow is where rain water is discharged into a sanitary sewer <br />system by catch basins, manhole covers, sump pumps and roof <br />leaders.
