NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA: <br />1. The City Council of the City of Hugo hereby intends to <br />draft a formal proposal to the United States Postal Service for the <br />construction of a new post office at either of the above locations. <br />The Postal Service could choose either site they desire. <br />2. The City will construct a building upon the property <br />chosen by the Postal Service. The building will be constructed to <br />meet the requirements of the Postal Service. <br />3. Said building would then be leased to the Postal Service <br />subject to the terms herein (and such other and further terms as <br />are finally negotiated between the City and the Postal Service). <br />4. The lease of the land and building to the Postal Service <br />shall run for a period of twenty (20) years. <br />5. The real estate will be leased to the Postal Service at <br />the rate of $ 8,500.00 per year. <br />6. The lease payments for the building will equal the <br />City's mortgage/bond payments for the construction of the facility <br />(as amortized out for twenty years). <br />7. The Postal Service shall be responsible for the payment <br />of all costs associated with the operation of the post office to <br />include, but not be limited to, taxes, utilities, garbage pick- <br />up, water, sewer, maintenance, etc. <br />8. The Postal Service shall at its sole cost and expense <br />maintain in good condition the building and property. At the end <br />of the twenty year term the building and property shall be turned <br />back over to the City in good condition. <br />9.
