Extensions will be <br />granted only when it is in the best interests of the <br />City to do so uhen necessary to comply with State or <br />Federal laws. Extension requests must be made by the^ <br />department head of the employee affected, or by t�' <br />City Administrator if the affected employee is a <br />department head. Extension requests will be dealt with <br />on the basis of the facts in each individual rase. Any <br />employee considered for an extension must demrnstra+e <br />physical fitness to perform his work by way of year -iv <br />physical examination. Any department head desiru1g � <br />work extension beyond the age of 65 for one of <br />emnloyees sha]l sL!bmit a letter stating hreuuest tn <br />the City Administrator not less than ninety (90) �ays <br />prior t -o the scheduled retirement Clatsence <br />of an approved extension, employees shall retire ro'o <br />City employment by their 65th bjrthday. <br />C.
