12. Reviews and inspects site for corrective actions to assure that <br />violations have been remedied in a timely manner. <br />13. Invokes legal actions to insure correction of violations where <br />cooperative measures have failed. <br />14. May be required to serve as street maintenance supervisor at various <br />times of the year for the purpose of directing proper road <br />maintenance. <br />15. May be required to perform other duties as required by the City <br />Administrator. <br />PERFORMANCE CRITERIA: <br />1. Inspection scheduling to maximize the number of inspections per day. <br />2.. Conduct scheduled inspections at appointed times. <br />3. Contacts with homeowners and contractors to be accomplished in a <br />tactful and businesslike manner encouraging cooperation with code <br />compliance. <br />4. Maintain -complete and appropriate records and provide needed <br />information to departmental secretary in an orderly fashion once an <br />inspection is completed. <br />5. Inspections reflect broad knowledge of applicable codes. <br />KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: <br />1. Must be able to communicate effectively, orally, graphically, and in <br />writing. Must be physically able to conduct necessary inspections in <br />a safe manner both above and below ground level of construction sites. <br />2. Must have a valid Minnesota Class C drivers license. <br />3. Must have demonstrated ability to develop and maintain working <br />relationships with owners, developers, contractors, and the general <br />public. <br />TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: <br />I. Completion of high school, trade school or equivalent education and <br />experience. <br />2. Thorough knowledge of construction codes and ability to interpret <br />zoning regulations. <br />3. Must have state building certification. <br />
