City Council meeting of May 21, 2007 <br />Page 7 <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the Hugo American Legion's 60'" anniversary and <br />celebration and use of Lions Park, as well as the parade route along Finale Avenue and 145" Street, then <br />south on TH61, and west on 140'' Street. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />DISCUSSION ON CITY-WIDE BUS TOUR WITH COUNCIL AND COMMISSIONS <br />In 2006, Council included in its City focus goals a City-wide bus tour, with Council and Commissions, <br />in order to provide hands-on and interactive site visits of the construction projects, retail projects, and <br />City parks and facilities. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to table this matter until the next regular Council meeting and <br />Council member Mike Granger will be present, along with review of the July calendar. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />SCHEDULE DATE FOR JUNE 2008 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OPEN HOUSE <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to schedule June 20, 2007 at 7:00 pm, as the next public open <br />house for continued discussion of the 2008 comprehensive plan. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />UPDATED CITY POPULATION SIGNS <br />Council member Puleo requested a change in the signs located at the entrance to the City stating that the <br />population of the City to be 6363 rather than 12,000. Typically, signs are changed every 10 years, after <br />the census, by the State of Minnesota at their cost. City Engineer Jay Kennedy stated that Minnesota <br />state aid for roads is based on population so that a revised number could be beneficial to the City. <br />Miran made motion, Haas seconded, to table this issue to allow staff time to obtain new population <br />numbers and report to Council. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MAY 23.2007 PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE ON 2008 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson announced and invited the public to attend the third public Open <br />House on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 7:00 pm in the Oneka Room at Hugo City Hall for the purpose <br />of continuing work on the 2008 Comprehensive Plan. Savoy's pizza and refreshments will be served. <br />All residents and business owners of the City of Hugo are encouraged to attend. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to adjourn at 8:35 pm. <br />All aye.
