City Council meeting of October 15, 2007 <br />Page 2 <br />Torno was in attendance to talk about how membership in the organization and what personal benefits <br />were awarded with to members as a result. Ms. Torno stated that a Hugo chapter would be organized <br />when 20 individuals have joined. <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the Proclamation proclaiming October as Toastmasters <br />Month in the City of Hugo. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />DECLARATION OF MINNESOTA MANUFACTURERS WEEK IN THE CITY OF HUGO <br />AND PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION (GERRY WENNER AND CLARICE OLSON <br />FROM MNDEED) <br />Governor Tim Pawlenty has declared the week of October 22-26, 2007 as Minnesota Manufacturers <br />Week in the State of Minnesota. The City of Hugo is fortunate to have twenty manufacturers in the City, <br />who provide hundreds of jobs with livable wages and pay thousands of dollars in property taxes. Gerry <br />Wenner and Clarice Olson presented the Proclamation on behalf of Governor Pawlenty to Council and <br />thanked them for its public support of the manufacturers in the City of Hugo. Mayor Fran Miron <br />publicly thanked the representatives from MnDEED and publicly announced the twenty manufacturers in <br />the City of Hugo, who provide excellent manufacturing jobs. Gerry presented staff with the 20 <br />Proclamations signed by the Governor, which will be delivered or mailed to the businesses. <br />Petryk made motion, Granger seconded, to approve the Proclamation proclaiming the week of October <br />22-26, 2007 as Minnesota Manufacturers Week in the State of Minnesota/City of Hugo. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Granger made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda: <br />Approval of Claims <br />Approve On -Sale Non -Intoxicating Beer License and Tobacco License for Kwik Trip at 14730 <br />Victor Hugo Blvd. <br />Approve Application for Minor Subdivision at 132nd Street and Ingersoll Avenue (Sathre) <br />Approve Encroachment Agreement for Construction of a Retaining Wall and Fence at 12489 Europa <br />Avenue North (Williams) <br />Approve Pay Request #8 from Keys Well Drilling for Work Completed to Date on Well #5 <br />Approve Resolution Ordering Feasibility Study for Reconstruction Project <br />Approve Charitable Gambling License for St. John's Church for Turkey Bingo on Nov. 17, 2007 <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the claims roster for October 15, 2007 as presented. <br />
