City Council meeting of October 15, 2007 <br />Page 8 <br />Local Government Meetings scheduled for Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Prom Center. City staff <br />requests Council schedule a public meeting to allow attendance of the Hugo City Council at this very <br />important annual event, which involves all elected and appointed officials from all the boards, <br />commission, and councils in Washington County. <br />Petryk made motion, Granger seconded, to schedule a special meeting for Monday, October 29, 2007, at <br />the Prom Center in Oakdale, to allow Council attendance at the Washington County League of Local <br />Governments event. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />INVITATION TO ATTEND LMC REGIONAL MEETING ON NOVEMBER 29, 2007 IN <br />BLOOMINGTON, MN <br />The City received an invitation from the League of Minnesota Cities for its regional meeting scheduled <br />in the metropolitan area in Bloomington MN on Thursday, November 29, 2007. <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to schedule a special City Council meeting for Thursday, <br />November 29, 2007 to allow Council attendance at the LMC Regional Meeting to be held in <br />Bloomington, MN. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />TOWN HALL DISCUSSION (STATE REPRESENTATIVE BOB DETTMER) <br />State Representative Bob Dettmer has scheduled a Town Hall discussion for Tuesday, October 23, 2007, <br />Hugo City Hall, from 7pm to Spm. Representatives Matt Dean and Carol McFarlane will also be in <br />attendance to discuss health care, education, transportation, taxes, and local issues. No formal City <br />Council action was taken. <br />PRESENTATION OF THE STILLWATER SCHOOL LEVY VOTE "YES" CAMPAIGN <br />BARBARA PROULX) <br />Mayor Fran Miron was contacted by Barbara Proulx from the Stillwater School Levy "Vote Yes" <br />Campaign and would like a few minutes to address the Council and public about operating referendum <br />vote on Tuesday, November 6, 2007. Ms. Proulx failed to attend the meeting. Mayor Miron reiterated <br />that Council has decreased the City's tax rate for the last five years so that residents would better be able <br />to support local school district's operating referendums. <br />RECESS <br />Granger made motion, Petryk seconded, to recess tonight's meeting at 9:30 pm until Tuesday, October <br />16, 2007, to allow Council attendance at the South Ethan Avenue neighborhood road project meeting. <br />All aye.
