City Council meeting of November 5, 2007 <br />Page 7 <br />land, which should be a consideration by Council, as they involve several storm water ponds. <br />Washington County is requesting Council approval of the sale of the parcels provided they be used for <br />public purposes only and the public use be declared. <br />Granger made motion, Petryk seconded, directing City staff to draft purchase resolutions to approve the <br />purchase of all but one of the tax forfeited parcels for public purpose. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />RESIDENT JOHN OLSON COMPLAINT OF NEIGHBOR AT 7130177TH STREET <br />Resident John Olson addressed Council, under Visitor Presentations, to request that his neighbor's <br />illegal driveway be removed as its location causes vehicle headlights to shine in his house. John also <br />stated that a light on the neighbor's building was shining in his house. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, directing City staff to notify the resident of 7130 177' Street <br />that no permit was obtained for the second driveway and to make the appropriate permit application if he <br />is interested in obtaining an Interim Use Permit, as well as redirecting the light on his building so as to <br />not interfere with his neighbor. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION NAMES 100 -ACRE PARK AS "CLEARWATER <br />CREEK PRESERVE" <br />At its October 10, 2007 meeting, the Parks and Recreation Commission discussed name options for the <br />100 -acre park in the southwest corner of the City. As per the park naming policy adopted by Council <br />three years ago, the Parks Commission has authority to name the park. After discussion, the <br />Commission agreed to name the 100 -acre park as the Clearwater Creek Preserve, which accurately <br />reflects the name, neighborhood, and the preserve features of the very unique 100 -acre park located <br />immediately adjacent to the Roy Molitor property and Fable Hills neighborhood. No formal Council <br />action was taken. <br />COUNCIL MEMBERS GRANGER AND PETRYK MEETING WITH CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR ERICSON REGARDING RENTAL HOUSING <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson met with Council members Becky Petryk and Mike Granger regarding <br />the issue of rental housing in the City. Staff will continue to research this issue and bring additional <br />information back to the full Council for fin they discussion. <br />TAC OPEN HOUSE ON NOVEMBER 13.2007 AT WITHROW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL <br />Washington County has undertaken a study of the County Road 7, 8 (east of TH 61), and 9 corridors as <br />part of their update to the County Transportation Plan and in preparation for the improvements to <br />County Road 8 within Hugo that are included in the County CIP.
