A white paper for the <br />strategy has been developed in coordination with Oakdale's City Administrator Craig Waldron. A <br />meeting will be held with the county in order to fully discuss and develop strategy that best addresses the <br />needs of Washington County communities. <br />Haas made motion, Miron seconded, to support the draft proposal for the formulation of a <br />Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for Washington County and its communities, which <br />will be presented back to the respective cities. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />REVIEW BROWN'S CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />On January 24, 2006, CD Director Bryan Bear attended a meeting with officials from the Brown's Creek <br />Watershed District officials, Washington County Water and Soil District, and MnDNR regarding the <br />development of a comprehensive plan for the BCWD. After review of the plan, CD Director Bryan Bear <br />requested Council/community feedback. No formal Council action was taken. <br />HUGO PTA GOLD PLATE DINNER <br />The Hugo PTA held a gold plate dinner fundraiser at the Hugo Legion on January 27, 2006. Funds <br />raised will be used to purchase playground equipment. Council member Haas briefed Council on the <br />event, which was well attended by residents, business owners, and WBL School Board officials. <br />JANUARY 24, 2006 CENTENNIAL COMMISSION BREAKFAST <br />On Tuesday, January 24, 2006, the Centennial Commission held a sponsorship breakfast in the Oneka <br />Room of the Hugo City Hall, which was attended by Commission members, as well as Council <br />members. City Administrator Mike Ericson reported to Council outcomes of the meeting, as well as the <br />follow up held with the Centennial Commission marketing committee in its efforts to secure sponsors <br />for the August 12-15, 2006 Centennial celebration. No formal Council action was taken. <br />LETTER TO RCWD FOR DITCH OBSTRUCTION HEARING FROM CONCRETE IN DITCH <br />AT TH61 <br />At its January 17, 2006 meeting, Council requested from staff an outcome on the obstruction, which was <br />requested for a chunk of concrete in a ditch on TH61. City staff included for Council a copy of a letter <br />sent to the RCWD, as well as a response letter received by RCWD administrator Steve Hobbs regarding <br />the proposed actions under the City's Memorandum of Agreement. City Administrator Mike Ericson <br />reported that Qwest will be responsible for removal of the ditch obstruction. No formal Council was <br />taken. <br />CSAH 8/14 PROJECT BID AWARD BY WASHINGTON COUNTY <br />On Thursday, January 19, 2006, City staff received a late afternoon telephone call from Washington <br />County Transportation Engineer Sandy Cullen regarding a meeting she had just held with MCES <br />
