Council member Puleo recused himself from discussion, as his property is <br />impacted by this proposed development. City Attorney Dave Snyder concurred with his decision and <br />stated that he could participate in discussion relative to transportation. Council discussion sidewalks, <br />access to TH61, transportation issues and signalization, expansion of the MUSA, parkland dedication <br />fees, screening for housing, mailboxes, and street lighting. Todd thanked Council for their constructive <br />comments, which will be incorporated into the plan as the application process proceeds further. No <br />official Council action was taken. <br />REVIEW SCHEDULING APRIL 20.2006 FOR NEXT I-35 W/E COALITION MEETING <br />At its January 19, 2006 I-35 W/E Coalition meeting, Council scheduled with Coalition members the next <br />meeting for April 20, 2006. Staff has been informed that this Thursday evening is the Republican <br />caucus, at which attendance of Council members could be expected. <br />Granger made motion, Petryk seconded, to schedule the next I-35 W/E Coalition meeting for Thursday, <br />May 18, 2006, Hugo City Hall, at 7:00 pm. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />REVIEW AND APPROVE 2006 CITY GOALS AND ONGOING PRIORITIES <br />At its January 19, 2006 goal setting session, Council listened to presentations from CD Director Bryan <br />Bear for the 2006 Planning Commission goals and PW Director Chris Petree for the 2006 Parks and <br />Recreation Commission goals. After the presentations, Council reviewed with staff its selection of 2006 <br />City goals and ongoing priorities. At the conclusion of the goal setting session, staff was directed to <br />finalize and assemble the final 2006 City goals, including the ongoing priorities. Council member Haas <br />asked that Council add to its list of City goals discussion of long-range police protection services. This <br />matter will be included under #3, Public Safety Goals. <br />Haas made motion, Granger seconded, to approve the attached list of 2006 City goals and ongoing <br />priorities as amended, and direct staff to provide a timeline for each goal and its next regular meeting. <br />Mayor Miron is authorized to work on goal #6, Rice Lake Management Plan, with City Attorney Dave <br />Snyder to develop proposed legislation, which may be introduced by State Representative Ray <br />Vandeveer. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />REVIEW COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY FOR <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY <br />On January 13, 2006, Mayor Fran Miron and City Administrator Mike Ericson attended a meeting of <br />Washington County Mayors and City Administrators at the Woodbury City Hall. The meeting was <br />organized and scheduled by Woodbury City Administrator Clint Gridley, with selected community <br />officials, to discuss the county economic strategy. Communities represented, including Woodbury, were <br />Cottage Grove, Forest Lake, Oakdale, and Hugo. Mayors, city administrators, and council members <br />discussed the county strategy relative to the economic development summit held last year, in City <br />
