City Council meeting of May 1, 2006 <br />Page 4 <br />VACATION OF DRAINA <br />City staff scheduled a public hearing for 7:00 pm on May 1, 2006 in order to allow Council the <br />opportunity to consider the vacation of a drainage and utility easement for Victor Gardens North and <br />Addition. This public hearing is identical to the number of other public hearings held by Council over <br />the past several years for the Victor Gardens development. The public hearing is an opportunity to <br />consider the final vacation the drainage and utility easement consistent with those approved by Council <br />in the past years. Mayor Pro Tem Chuck Haas opened the public hearing with no oral or written <br />comments. <br />Haas made motion, Granger seconded, to approve vacation of the drainage and utility easement for <br />Victor Gardens North and Addition. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />AWARD OF BID FOR 2006 AGGREGATE ROAD SURFACING CONTRACT <br />On April 21, 2006, the City held a bid opening for the 2006 aggregate road surfacing contract. A <br />specification was prepared to allow bidders to bid on multiple types of aggregate and allow the City to <br />control the material received. The City received four bids for the 2006 contract; however, the City <br />received only three bids on the selected aggregate. The City will be graveling 4.4 miles of road in 2006. <br />Granger made motion, Puleo seconded, to award the annual aggregate road surfacing contract to M.J. <br />Raleigh Trucking, Inc., at a low bid of $74,757.60. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />AWARD OF BID FOR 2006 SEAL COATING CONTRACT <br />The City follows a six-year seal coating plan with 3.3 miles of pavement scheduled to be seal coated in <br />2006. A bid opening was held on April 21, 2006 and three bids were received. <br />Haas made motion, Puleo seconded, to award the 2006 seal coating contract to the low bidder Allied <br />Blacktop Company, with a low price of $53,540.50. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />AWARD OF QUOTE FOR 2006 CRACK FILLING CONTRACT <br />The City follows six-year crack filling plan with 3.3 miles of road scheduled to be crack filled in 2006. <br />Three quotes were received for the work and the low bidder was Bergman Companies, Inc. <br />Granger made motion, Haas seconded, to approve the annual crack filling contract to Bergman <br />Companies, Inc., in the amount of $2,856. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
