City Council meeting of October 16, 2006 <br />Page 6 <br />Haas made motion, Granger seconded, that Council meet as the Board of Canvass on Wednesday, <br />November 8, 2006, at 8:30 am. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />UPDATE ON RURAL & OPEN SPACE PRESERVATION ORDINANCE <br />CD Director Bryan Bear provided Council with an update on Planning Commission discussions <br />regarding the rural and open space preservation ordinance and that the PC is not close to making a <br />recommendation to Council with any recommended changes. At its last meeting, a commissioner <br />suggested that a representative from Met Council be invited to a meeting to discuss a possible conflict <br />between the ordinance and the Met Council System Statement and general planning policy. Council <br />member Puleo stated that if someone from Met Council attends a meeting that Council should also be in <br />attendance for a workshop situation. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, directing City staff to schedule a joint Council/Planning <br />Commission workshop, along with a representative from the Metropolitan Council, to continue <br />discussion on the rural and open space preservation ordinance. <br />All aye.
