City Council meeting of April 18, 2005 <br />Page 6 <br />APPROVE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PUBLIC WORKS MECHANIC AND HIRING A <br />PUBLIC WORKS WORKER AND MECHANIC <br />Council member Frank Puleo questioned whether the hiring of a public works mechanic was in the <br />2005 City budget. Public Works Director Chris Petree responded that the hiring of a mechanic was a <br />separate line item in the budget, as well as the hiring of an additional public works worker. More <br />specifically, staff included a PW maintenance employee and the creation of a mechanic, who would <br />complete all necessary truck and vehicle maintenance in the City's new public works garage. Chris <br />stated that the mechanic would, in the future, would also be able to work on fire department emergency <br />equipment. Staff recommended Council approve authorization to advertise for the hiring of a public <br />works worker and mechanic, with hiring of the two new employees taking place no sooner than July 1, <br />2005. <br />Puleo made motion, Granger seconded, authorizing staff to approve the job description for the public <br />works mechanic, and authorize to advertise for the hiring of a public works worker and mechanic, to be <br />hired no sooner than July 1, 2005. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />The City scheduled a public hearing for Monday, April 18, 2005 at 7 pm, to consider <br />vacation of a ponding and flowage easement located south of Frenchman Road and east of Victor <br />Gardens South Village. This property is in the process of being platted at Victor Gardens 4d' Addition. <br />This vacation is consistent with other easements that have been vacated by Council previously. Mayor <br />Miron opened the public hearing to take any and all public comment on the issue. There were no oral <br />or written comments at this time. Council member Puleo questioned whether the Everton Avenue <br />property owners had any concerns regarding this matter, and CD Director Bryan Bear stated that he was <br />not aware of any. <br />Granger made motion, Haas seconded, to approve the vacation of the ponding and flowage easement <br />located in the future Victor Gardens 4d' Addition Development. <br />All aye.
