Staff -received notification from a former public works —
worker that he was interested in returning to employment with the City. After several meetings, and
upon receipt of an inquiry letter, City staff seeks approval for the rehiring of Rick Kieffer as a public
works worker. Rick has had personal and professional changes in his life since he left employment with
the City last year and desires a return. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the rehire of Rick
Kieffer as the City's public works worker.
APPROVE SITE PLAN FOR SCHWIETERS PROPERTIES FOR BUILDING IN THE BALD
EAGLE INDUSTRIAL PARK
Schwieters Properties applied for site plan approval to allow for the construction of a 45,000 square foot
building on Lots 4 and 5, Block 1 of Bald Eagle Industrial Park, 3rd Addition. The building would be
located directly south of the three existing Schwieter buildings on Fenway Boulevard. Schwieters
Properties purchased Lots 4 and 5 in Bald Eagle Industrial Park, 3rd Addition from the City in 2003.
According to the agreement, Schwieters had until August of 2005 to construct a building on the site.
The building is intended primarily for storage of lumber and other materials and will function as an
integrated part of the developing Schwieters' campus. Construction on the site will also include the
installation of a railroad spur, a team track that can be used for unloading of materials for Schwieters, as
well as other businesses in the City. Adoption of the Consent Agenda adopted Resolution 2005-29
approving a site plan for Schwieters Properties for construction of a 45,000 sq ft building on Lots 4 and
5, Block 1, of the BEIP P Addition.
APPROVE "RIDE ALONG" FORM FOR BUILDING INSPECTION DEPARTMENT
The City's building inspection department has received interest from individuals who wish to "ride
along" with building inspectors to learn more about the building inspection industry. Consistent with the
WCSO's "ride along" form, City staff has prepared a liability insurance form, which would allow the
public, on a case-by-case basis, to ride along with building inspectors to observe performance. Adoption
of the Consent Agenda approved the "ride along" form for the building inspection department.
