City Council meeting of May 16, 2005 <br />Page 3 <br />APPROVE CHARITABLE GAMBLING PERMIT FOR SEAN PARENTEAU MEMORIAL <br />FUND BLACKSMITH LOUNGE) <br />Christina Parenteau, representing the Sean Parenteau Memorial Fund, made application to the City for a <br />lawful gambling permit in order to conduct a raffle on September 18, 2005 at the Blacksmith Lounge. <br />City staff reviewed the application and found it to be satisfactorily complete. Adoption of the Consent <br />Agenda approved the charitable gambling permit for the Sean Parenteau Memorial Fund in order to hold <br />a raffle on September 18, 2005 at the Blacksmith Lounge. <br />APPROVE DONATION FROM AMERICAN LEGION TO HUGO FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />The HFD recently received a $500 donation from the Hugo American Legion, which has been <br />designated to be used for training purposes. Adoption of the Consent Agenda accepted the generous <br />donation from-dwHugo American Legion to be used by the HFD for t�ir 'ng purposes. <br />APPROVE SLALOM COURSE AND SKI NMP ON ROUND LAKE BALL AND DAVIS) <br />Mike Ball and Dan Davis submitted applications for approval of the water ski slalom course and ski <br />jump on Round Lake. Staff reviewed the applications and found them to be satisfactorily completed. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the water ski slalom course and ski jump applications for <br />Round Lake. <br />APPROVE RESOLUTION FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT TH61 AND NEW CR8 <br />At its meeting of May 2, 2005, Council approved the contract with MnDOT to install traffic control <br />signals at TH61 and new CR8. MnDOT also requires approval of a resolution for this work. Adoption <br />of the Consent Agenda adopted Resolution 2005-30 approving the City of Hugo entering into a contract <br />with MnDOT for the installation of traffic control signals at TH61 and CR8. <br />VACATION OF THE DRAINAGE/UTILITY EASEMENT ON OUTLOT A. VICTOR <br />GARDENS <br />The Hugo City Council held a public hearing on May 16, 2005 to consider the application of POA - <br />Scherer, LLC for vacation of the drainage/utility easement over property located in the Victor Gardens <br />North development. Mayor Fran Miron opened the public hearing and there were no oral or written <br />comments. Mayor Miron closed the hearing for discussion by Council, of which there was none. <br />Haas made motion, Puleo seconded, to approve vacation of the drainage/utility easement on Outlot A, <br />Victor Gardens North. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />2005 ROAD SURFACING PROJECT <br />Bid opening for the 2005 road surfacing project was held on Friday, May 6, 2005, with a total of two <br />bids being received. <br />
