City Council meeting of October 17, 2005 <br />Page 5 <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to table this matter and ask staff bring back at a later date. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />ACCEPT RESIGNATION FROM EDA COMMISSIONER THERESA CHARPENTIER <br />At its September 19, 2005 meeting, the EDA discussed the request from Commissioner Theresa <br />Charpentier to seek a replacement for her on the TIF Subcommittee due to a change in her work <br />schedule. The EDA accepted her resignation and the City Council committee voted unanimously to <br />select and appoint Phil Klein as her replacement. Since that time, staff has had the opportunity to <br />discuss with Theresa her future on the EDA. Theresa has submitted a letter of resignation to the City for <br />her service on the EDA, citing a change in her work schedule, which does not allow her the flexibility to <br />attend regular meetings. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to accept the resignation from Theresa Charpentier from the <br />EDA and direct staff to advertise for this vacancy on the EDA and send letters to the thirteen applicants <br />who originally interviewed for the position in order to determine their interest in serving out Theresa's <br />term on the EDA. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />SCHEDULE OPEN HOUSE FOR MULTI -FAMILY DESIGN GUIDELINES <br />The City Council has scheduled a joint Planning Commission/City Council workshop for Tuesday, <br />October 25 at 3:OOpm to discuss the architectural and site plan related issues that should be addressed <br />with new multifamily developments in the City. Following that meeting, an outline will be generated of <br />the design guidelines, and the staff has suggested holding an open house to discuss the guidelines with <br />the major multi -family home builders in the area before scheduling a public hearing with the Planning <br />Commission. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to schedule an open house on Wednesday, November I6, 2005, <br />Hugo City Hall, from 6 pm to 8 pm, to discuss multi -family guidelines with the major multi -family <br />home builders in the area. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CENTENNIAL COMMISSION BREAKFAST ON NOVEMBER 9.2005 <br />At its October 10, 2005 meeting, the Hugo Centennial Commission agreed to schedule a breakfast <br />meeting at the Hugo City Hall Oneka Room on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 7:30 am. The purpose <br />of the meeting will be to invite the Hugo Business Association and area businesses to discuss <br />sponsorship of the "Celebrate Hugo's 100 Years". <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to schedule a special meeting for November 9, 2005, 7:30 am, in <br />the Oneka Room, to allow attendance at the Centennial Commission's breakfast to solicit local business <br />sponsorship of the "Celebrate Hugo's 100 Years". All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
