City Council meeting of January 5, 2004 <br />Page 9 <br />preservation plan. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />Haas made motion, Granger seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2004-5 APPROVING <br />PRELIMINARY PLAT FOR NORTHERN PINES, subject to the four issues previously sited. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE ARCHITECT'S AGREEMENT WITH ESG ARCHITECTS FOR NEW PUBLIC <br />WORKS FACILITY <br />City staff updated Council on the Public Works Building Committee meeting that was held Monday, <br />January 5, 2004. It was the Committee's recommendation that Council accept the revised building and <br />site plan to reduce the footprint from 19,200 sq ft to 16,000 sq ft. City architect Bob Russek from <br />Elsness Swenson and Graham Architects submitted a draft AIA Architect's Agreement for <br />architectural services for the construction of the new public works building. This will be discussed at <br />the January 20, 2004 Council meeting, as well as the final plans and specs. No formal Council action <br />was taken on this matter. <br />ADOPT 2004 FEE SCHEDULE (ORDINANCE) <br />Each year Council, along with a recommendation from City staff, adopts a new fee schedule <br />incorporating standard consumer price index increases to reflect increased City staff time related to the <br />City fee schedule. Finance Director Ron Otkin prepared the annual City fee schedule for 2004 and <br />City staff recommends approval as presented. Because the amended fee schedule was not received by <br />Council until tonight's meeting: <br />Puled made motion, Granger seconded, to table this matter and direct staff to highlight proposed <br />increases from the last fee schedule. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />RUSH LINE CORRIDOR MEETING UPDATE (DECEMBER 1. 2003 <br />Council member Mike Granger serves on the Rush Line Corridor group. Council member Granger <br />provided an update of the meeting held on December 1, 2003 in the Oneka Room relative to extension <br />of the transit service area to the City of Hugo. <br />COURT RULING ON RAILROAD CROSSING AT 142"d STREET <br />City Attorney Dave Snyder informed Council that Administrative Law Judge Kathleen Sheehy had <br />ruled in favor of the City with regard to the City's request for a crossing at the 142nd StreeM61 <br />intersection. The matter has been now been forwarded to MnDOT for their ruling on the request. <br />
