Motion Carried. <br />UPDATE ON ASSOCIATION OF METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITIES (CHUCK HAAS) <br />At its August 16, 2004 meeting, Council member Chuck Haas, an appointed director on the Board of the <br />Association of Metropolitan Municipalities, presented Council with an update on activities related to the <br />AMM. <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT TH61 AND 130" STREET <br />At its August 16, 2004 meeting, Council discussed the proposed railroad spur into the Bald Eagle <br />Industrial Park. Council member Chuck Haas requested information from staff regarding the escrowed <br />TIF funds and the purpose for which they can be used. He additionally requested information from staff <br />regarding the escrowed funds of the developer of the Beaver Ponds residential subdivision. Staff <br />researched this request and found that the escrowed funds from Beaver Ponds can only be used for <br />improvements to 13& Street, which does not include a traffic signal. A 13& Street "neighbor flyer" <br />was circulated with a number of inaccuracies regarding escrowed funds and the need for a stop light at <br />130' Street and TH61. Mayor Miron suggested a workshop be held to explain the process for getting a <br />traffic signal installed. Council member Puleo suggested that the intersections of 147h Street and 170'h <br />Street, at TH61, also be included in the workshop. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, directing staff to place this matter on the next Council agenda <br />for scheduling of a workshop. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />SCHEDULE EDA COMMISSIONERS) INTERVIEWS <br />Council directed staff to advertise for the five at -large commissioners to serve on the newly -created <br />Economic Development Authority. At the closing date of August 20, 2004, City staff received a total of <br />13 applicants for the position. <br />Granger made motion, Haas seconded, to schedule a special Council meeting for September 13, 2004, at <br />7:00 pm, Hugo City Hall, to conduct interviews for the five at -large EDA commissioner positions. <br />All aye. Motion Carried <br />SCHEDULE COUNCIL WORKSHOP ON AMBULANCE SERVICE/WASHINGTON COUNTY <br />CDBG GRANT <br />At its July 19, 2004 meeting, Council directed staff to make an offer of $7,500 for the purchase of a <br />1990 ambulance from the City of Mahtomedi Fire Dept.
