City Council meeting of February 18, 2003 <br />Page 6 <br />OPENING ON BCWD'S BOARD OF MANAGERS <br />The Browns Creek Watershed District City notified the City that there would be a vacancy on the Board <br />of Managers as of March 31, 2003. Mayor Fran Miron made this public announcement and encouraged <br />any and all residents interested in serving on the district to notify the City, where an application will be <br />submitted on their behalf. <br />RUSH LINE CORRIDOR UPDATE MHEE GRANGER) <br />City Council member Mike Granger, representing the City of Hugo on the Rush Line Corridor Coalition, <br />provided the Council with an update on recent coalition meetings. The coalition meets every other <br />month and is actively looking for Park and Pool lots to be located within the condor. There will be no <br />light rail available in the near future. Mayor Miron thanked Mike for his representation on behalf of the <br />City. <br />UPDATE ON LAKE PLAISTED FLOODING (RICEI <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson has recently attended two mugs with Washington County officials <br />to discuss the Don and Pauline Rice flooding problem at 9497 14e Street. Mike provided an update on <br />a suggested funding source that was introduced at the meeting held on Monday, February 10, 2003, and <br />stated that efforts will continue to try and resolve the problem. <br />WETLANDS LEGISLATION RESOLUTION <br />Mayor Miron presented a draft resolution for Council consideration. HF337 and SF312 are draft bills <br />that require BWSR to remove an unauthorized wetland exemption rule. Mayor Miron provided more <br />details of the resolution. <br />Puleo made motion, Granger seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2003-12 A RESOLUTION BY <br />INTERESTED PARTIES SUPPORTING LEGISLATION RELATING TO WETLANDS REQUIRING <br />THE BOARD OF WATER AND SOIL RESOURCES TO REMOVE A WETLAND EXEMPTION <br />RULE. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Haas, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />Miran made motion, Granger seconded, directing staff to forward this resolution to the appropriate <br />agencies requesting their support. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />PELOOUIN INDUSTRIAL PARK <br />City Administrator Mike Ericson presented an update on the Peloquin Industrial Park public <br />improvement project. Efforts continue to bore under TH61 and staff will provide Council updates. <br />
