Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the temporary liquor license for <br />the North Star Gay Rodeo Association for a rodeo to be held July 5-6, 2003 at the Dead Broke Saddle <br />Club. <br />APPROVE LAWFUL CHARITABLE GAMBLING PERMIT FOR ST. JOHN'S CHURCH <br />St. John's the Baptist Church, 14383 Forest Boulevard, made application to the City for approval of a <br />lawful gambling permit for their summer festival to be held August 23-24, 2003. Adoption of the <br />Consent Agenda approved the lawful gambling permit for St. John's Church for August 23-24, 2003. <br />APPROVE SUMMARY OF PEDDLER ORDINANCE FOR PUBLICATION <br />At its June 2, 2003 meeting, the Council adopted a new ordinance regulating the business of peddlers <br />and transient merchants. Due to the length of the ordinance, City Attorney Dave Snyder drafted an <br />executive summary, which would be published in the White Bear Press in accordance with City code. <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the summary for publication in the WBP of the City's new <br />peddler ordinance. <br />APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF ROGER CLARKE TO THE PARKS COMMISSION <br />On June 9, 2003, the Council interviewed two candidates for the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />After discussion, the Council agreed to recommend the appointment of Roger Clarke as the new member <br />to the Parks Commission, replacing Bunny Peterson who did not wish to be reappointed. Adoption of <br />the Consent Agenda publicly appointed Roger Clarke as the newest Parks Commissioner. <br />Hardrives Construction submitted pay request #1 for work completed to date on the traffic signal project <br />at TH61 and 1401° Street. Project representative Brian Mitchell from SEH Engineers reviewed the <br />request and found it to be consistent with work completed to date on the project. Adoption of the <br />Consent Agenda approved payment to Hardrives in the amount of $170,415.76. <br />APPROVE PERFORMANCE REVIEW FOR THE BUILDING INSPECTOR (GARY <br />SCHWARTZ) <br />Gary Schwartz was hired by the City on April 15, 2002 and has worked very hard over the past year in <br />his position as building inspector to both provide a high quality of building inspection service, while <br />serving as a well respected representative of the City in the field. Gary is very conscientious, reliable, <br />and a good team player at City Hall. In addition to serving as the primary field inspector, Gary also <br />assists with snowplowing duties. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the performance review for <br />Gary Schwartz. <br />
