City Council meeting of December 15, 2003 Page 2 CONSENT AGENDA Haas made motion, Granger seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda: Approval of Claims Approve Refuse Hauler Licenses for 2004 Adopt Resolution Approving Liquor Licenses for 2004 Approve January 15, 2004 Meeting for LCMR Grant/Hardwood Creek Residents Approve Variance for Septic System from Sunset Lake (Robert Olson) Approve Variance for Accessory Building (Tim Stockness) Approve Recognition of Mike Loeffler for Successful Water & Wastewater Operator License Approve Donation from Len Pratt to the Hugo Fire Department Approve Lawful Gambling Permit (American Legion) Approve Donation from Como Lube to the Hugo Fire Department All aye. Motion Carried. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the claims roster for December 15, 2003 as presented. APPROVE REFUSE HAULER LICENSES FOR 2004 The City has seven refuse haulers, who provide refuse and recycling services. The haulers are: Maroney's Sanitation; DoAll Service; Ace Solid Waste; MN Waste Management; SRC, Inc.; Gene's Disposal; and BFI Waste Services. City staff has received renewal applications from all seven haulers, and they have paid their annual fee of $155. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the issuance of refuse haulers licenses for 2004 to the seven firms listed. APPROVE RESOLUTION APPROVING LIQUOR LICENSES FOR 2004 In December each year, Council reviews renewal of liquor licenses for the upcoming year. The City currently has twelve liquor licenses available, with five applications received for the licenses: Blacksmith Lounge; Carpenter's; Oneka Ridge Golf Course; Ricci's; and Woody's. The End Zone liquor license has not been applied for. Approval of liquor licenses is subject to receipt of all the necessary applications and related fees. Adoption of the Consent Agenda adopted Resolution 2003-64 and approved the issuance of liquor licenses for 2004 for the five businesses listed. APPROVE JANUARY 15, 2004 MEETING FOR LCMR GRANT/HARDWOOD CREEK At its December 1, 2003 meeting, Council agreed to schedule a meeting with Hardwood Creek residents for Thursday, December 18, 2003 in order to provide them with an opportunity to discuss the LCMR grant. Council agreed to schedule this date if notice could be provided in the City's Newsletter. Staff reviewed the printing schedule and discovered that the newsletter would be distributed the day after the proposed meeting date, and requested that Council selectanotherdate.
