Motion Carried. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to appoint Kendra Lindahl of Landform as the City's "acting" <br />CD Director, as outlined in her proposal. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPROVE HIRING OF TOM DENAWAY AS ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN <br />Tom Denaway is a public administration graduate student at Metropolitan State University. An <br />internship is required as part of his master's degree curriculum. Staff has interviewed Tom, who <br />currently works as an intern for Congressman James Oberstar. Tom's duties would be as a generalist <br />intern working in all City departments. Tom would work with the finance director on the GASB 34 <br />accounting requirements, develop the City's record retention program, and do everything from citizen <br />correspondence, and attend public meetings. Additionally, due to the departure of CD Director John <br />Rask, Tom will assist in the day-to-day operation in the Community Development Department. Tom <br />would work a total 32 hours a week, Monday through Thursday, for a period not to exceed six months, <br />and be paid $10/hr. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to approve the hiring of Tom Denaway as an administrative <br />intern, with a start date of January S, 2004, at $10/hr. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Haas made motion, Granger seconded, to recess tonight's meeting at 10:00 pm until Wednesday, <br />December 17, 2003, at 6:30 pm, to allow Council's attendance at a MCES meeting to be held in the <br />City Hall's Oneka Room. <br />All aye.
