City Council meeting of December 15, 2003 <br />Page 7 <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to schedule a City Council workshop for Monday, January 12, <br />2004, at 7:00 pm, to discuss goal settings for 2004 and the City's salary matrix. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSIONER TERM EXPIRES ON DECEMBER 31.2003 <br />Planning Commissioner Ron McRoberts' four-year term expires on December 31, 2003. In <br />accordance with guidelines adopted by the City Council, Council has the discretion to conduct a <br />performance review of commissioners and/or recommend reappointment. Mr. McRoberts was <br />approached by City staff regarding his reappointment to the Planning Commission, and he stated that <br />he would like to think about his desire to be reappointed. <br />Miron made motion, Puleo seconded, to table this matter until the Council meeting of 1/5/04. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />SCHEDULE MEETING TO INTERVIEW PLANNING COMMISSION APPLICANTS <br />At its November 17, 2003 meeting, Council accepted the resignation of long -tune Planning <br />Commissioner Teddy Peltier. A reception to honor her years of public service was rescheduled to 6:00 <br />pm, Monday, January S, 2004, due to her schedule. City staff was requested to advertise for the <br />vacancy, with a deadline for submittal of applications of Monday, December 22, 2003. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to schedule a special Council meeting for Monday, December 29, <br />2004, at 7:00 pm, to conduct interviews for the Planning Commission vacancy. PC Chair Dave <br />Schumann and Teddy are to be invited to participate in the interview process. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />ACCEPT RESIGNATION OF JOHN RASK A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR <br />John Rask submitted a letter of resignation to the City for his position as the City's Community <br />Development Director. His last day of work will be Wednesday, December 24, 2003. John has <br />accepted a position with Hans Hagen Homes, who is a well-known Twin Cities' builder of executive <br />homes. John expressed his thanks to the Council and City staff for making his job a pleasant <br />experience. Council and staff wished John well in his new venture and wanted him to know how <br />much he was appreciated. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to accept the resignation of John Rask as the City's Community <br />Development Director and adopt RESOLUTION 2003-69 RECOGNIZING JOHN RASK FOR HIS <br />YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO THE CITY OF HUGO. <br />
