APPOINTMENT OF CITY ATTORNEY City Attorney Dave Snyder and the law firm of Eckberg, Lammers, Wolff and Vierling have served the well over the past year. Adoption of the Consent Agenda appointed Dave Snyder as the City Attorney for the year 2002. APPOINTMENT OF FINANCIAL ADVISOR In the fall of 2001, the Council appointed Springsted, Inc., as the City's new financial advisor after the departure of Rusty Fifield from Ehlers. New financial advisor Nick Dragisich and the members of the Springsted team served the City very well over the past year with the CIP project. Adoption of the Consent Agenda appointed Nick Dragisich and Springsted, Inc., as the City's financial advisor for the year 2002. APPOINTMENT OF CIVIL DEFENSE DIRECTOR Each year, the Council appoints a member of City staff for the role of civil defense director. For the past several years, the Fire Chief has been appointed as the City's civil defense director. Adoption of the Consent Agenda appointed new Fire Chief Jim Compton as the City's civil defense director for 2002. APPOINTMENT OF DEPOSITORY FOR CITY FUNDS Annually, the Council selects a depository/bank for the deposit of City funds. For the past several years, Council has selected the local bank, Firstar Hugo Bank. Adoption of the Consent Agenda appointed Firstar Hugo Bank as the official depository for City funds for 2002 APPOINTMENT OF OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER Annually, the Council selects a newspaper as the official publication for all public notices and publishing of the ordinances. For the past several years, the Council has selected the White Bear Press as the City's official newspaper. Adoption of the Consent Agenda appointed the White Bear Press as the City's official newspaper for public notices and publishing for 2002. APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRPERSON FOR PLANNING COMMISSION The Hugo City Council appointed Dave Schumann as the chairperson for the PC last year. Dave has worked hard over the past year and helped to build cohesiveness with the PC. He has treated persons appearing before the PC with respect and dignity. Adoption of the Consent Agenda appointed Dave Schumann as Chair of the PC for 2002. APPOINTMENT OF VICE CHAIRPERSON FOR PLANNING COMMISSION The Council appointed Sandy Malaski as vice chair for the PC last year. Sandy has worked hard to
