City Council meeting of January 22, 2002 <br />Page 6 <br />NEW CITY HALL PUBLICATION PROPOSAL <br />City staff recently met with representatives from the Quad Cities Press regarding publication of a <br />newspaper insert for the White Bear Press and The Shopper. Staff discussed this public relations piece <br />with City Hall Building Committee members Mike Granger and Frank Puleo, who endorsed the concept <br />and idea <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, authorizing staff to work with the Quad Press and prepare a <br />publication insert for the local newspaper to announce the completion and grand opening for the new <br />City Hall in the amount of $1,050 for 20,000 inserts, which will be distributed to selected zones in the <br />White Bear Press area <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CITY COUNCIL GOAL SETTING SESSION <br />Mayor Fran Miron included this item at the January 7, 2002 Council meeting for discussion purposes. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to schedule a Council goal setting session for Monday, February <br />25, 2002, Hugo City Hall, at 7:00 pm. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />DATE FOR JOINT CSAH 8/14 MEETING <br />The Council directed staff to work with the city administrators of the cities of Lino Lakes and <br />Centerville to schedule a joint meeting among the three city councils respectively. Both the Lino Lakes <br />and Centerville city councils are available to meet on Wednesday, January 30, 2002, at 7:00 pm at the <br />Lino Lakes city hall. City staff recommended Council approve January 30, 2002 as its tri -city joint <br />workshop with the Lino Lakes and Centerville city councils respectively. <br />Puleo made motion, Granger seconded, to schedule January 30, 2002 at 7:00 pm, Lino Lakes City Hall, <br />as a tri -city joint workshop with Lino Lakes and Centerville to discuss common concerns. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CITY IS OUT OF LIQUOR LICENSES <br />City staff requested Council consider acknowledgement of the issuance of all seven liquor licenses <br />allowed by state statute. This issue is placed on the Council agenda for discussion and direction from <br />Council regarding the future development of the City and a proposed need for additional liquor licenses <br />for hotels and restaurants. The City Administrator stated that the City would be looking at increasing <br />the liquor licenses by seven, which would need to be approved by a referendum. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, directing staff to include a referendum for voters to consider <br />increasing the City's liquor licenses from seven to 14 at the general election in November 2002. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
