City Council meeting of March 18, 2002 <br />Page 2 <br />Approve Variance and Lot Line Adjustment (Robert Juran) <br />Request for Payment No. 8 from Municipal Builders for Work Completed on Pumphouse No. 3 <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the claims for March 18, 2002 as presented. <br />APPROVE AUTHORIZATION FOR STAFF TO ADVERTISE FOR SEASONAL PUBLIC <br />WORKS EMPLOYEES <br />In 2001, the City hired a summer seasonal public works employee to address the ever-increasing <br />demand in routine public works maintenance duties. The public works department budgeted for 6 - <br />months of seasonal employment in 2002. Public Works Director Chris Petree recommended Council <br />authorize staff to advertise for the hiring of two seasonal public works employees to assist in the routine <br />public works maintenance for three months each, respectively. Adoption of the Consent Agenda <br />authorized staff to advertise for two seasonal public works employees over the summer months in 2002. <br />APPROVE SECURITY COVERAGE FROM WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF FOR <br />GOOD NEIGHBOR DAYS <br />Over the past several years, the City provided the funding of the Washington. County deputies for police <br />protection services for the City's annual Good Neighbor Days. Staff received the annual request from <br />the Hugo Liuns Club for security coverage for the 2002 Good Neighbor Days. Adoption of the Consent <br />Agenda authorized the police security coverage from the Washington County Sheriff's Department for <br />the 2002 Good Neighbor Days, which will be held June 6-9, 2002. <br />APPROVE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS/NO PARKING SIGNS (130TH STREET AND <br />EUROPA TRAIL) <br />City Engineer Dave Mitchell and Public Works Director Chris Petree reviewed and agreed there is need <br />for the installation of no parking signs on 130h Street and a stop sign on Europa Trail in the <br />Townhomes of Bald Eagle. Adoption of the Consent Agenda authorized staff to provide the installation <br />of no parking signs and stop signs in accordance with the City street and engineering standards. <br />AUTHORIZE STAFF TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR 2002 GRAVELING CONTRACT <br />Each year, the Public Works Department seeks authorization from the Council to advertise for the bids <br />to provide new gravel for the City's more than 32 miles of gravel roads. Adoption of the Consent <br />Agenda authorized staff to advertise and solicit bids for the 2002 -graveling contract. <br />APPROVE JUNE 23.2002 FOR SWEET GRASS MEADOWS BLOCK PARTY <br />Kitty Cheesebrow, a Sweet Grass Meadows resident, requested approval from the City to hold a block <br />party on June 23, 2002. As Council is aware, a similar request was approved in 2001, but was not held <br />due to rain. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved June 23, 2002 fora block party in the Sweet <br />
