City Council meeting of March 18, 2002
Page 7
METROPOLITAN COUNCIL MEETING
On March 12, 2002, the Met Council held a meeting to discuss the 2030 Regional Blueprint. Council
members Petryk and Haas attended the meeting on behalf of the City Council, and CD Director John
Rask and City Administrator Michael Ericson represented staff. Following the meeting, Met Council
requested to use Hugo's Everton Avenue Study area as a demo site to develop design alternatives for
natural resource preservation. Mayor Miron felt the development of property east of TH61 and west of
Oneka Lake would be a better site for this type of project. John Rask stated he shared this with the Met
Council, but all the data was not available.
Haas made motion, Miron seconded, directing staff to contact the Metropolitan Council indicating the
City's support for a master plan of the Everton/Elmcrest Avenue Study Area, and request their
assistance with development of land east of TH61 and west of Oneka Lake.
All aye. Motion Carried.
CITY PROJECT LIST
Council member Haas inquired as to the status of the City's project list. City Administrator Mike
Ericson advised him that an updated list would be forthcoming.
ADDITION TO AGENDA
Miron made motion, Haas seconded, to amend the agenda to include discussion of the building
inspectorjob.
All aye.
