City Council meeting of April 15, 2002 <br />Page 7 <br />I.2 HOUSE NUMBERS <br />At its April 1, 2002 meeting, Council member Frank Puleo requested that the issue of house numbers be <br />placed on the agenda for discussion by Council. Council member Puleo was to attend a meeting in the <br />City and he had difficulty locating the house because he was unable to find a house number. The City <br />does have an ordinance regulating the placement of house numbers on residences, and has become a <br />community project effort of Washington County Deputy Stephane Courtois to make sure house numbers <br />are visible for emergency responders. <br />Miron made motion, Puleo seconded, directing staff to communicate with the Fire Department and the <br />Washington County Sheriff's Department and report to the Council of any issues that may exist. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />WEST ONEKA LAKE STUDY AREA <br />The City Council directed staff to prepare a work plan for the West Oneka Lake Study Area, and CD <br />Director John Rask presented an overview of said plan for Council consideration. The City has <br />continued to receive inquiries from landowners and developers in the area. <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, directing staff to meet with affected property owners to review the <br />proposed work plan, as well as reporting to Council potential sources to help fund the project. <br />VOTING AYE: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Miron <br />ABSTAINED: Frank Puleo <br />Motion Carried. <br />APPROVAL OF REVISED FINAL PLAT (VICTOR GARDENS) <br />The developers of the Victor Gardens project have requested approval of a revised final plat to reduce <br />the number of lots from 82 to 80. This change is necessary to accommodate the proposed custom- <br />designed homes. The revised plan also includes new street names consistent with the City's revised <br />street naming ordinance and reflecting the City's French heritage. <br />Miron made motion, Haas seconded, approving the revised final plat for Victor Gardens, Phase 1. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CENTEX PRELIMINARY PLAT/SITE PLAN (CLEARWATER CREEK CROSSINGS) <br />At its March 28, 2002 meeting, the Hugo Planning Commission considered the preliminary plat, site <br />plan, and variance application from Centex Homes for the Clearwater Creek Crossings project located <br />immediately west on Fenway Blvd. City Planner Kendra Lindahl explained that the plan would include <br />122 units consisting of a variety of multi -family dwellings. The PC unanimously recommended <br />approval of the preliminary plat and recommended denial of the variance by a 43 vote. The staff report <br />provided an overview of the PC recommendation.
