APPOINTMENT OF NEW PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSIONER At its special meeting on Monday, May 13, 2002, the Council interviewed a number of applicants for the vacancy on the Parks & Recreation Commission. After discussion, Council agreed to recommend the appointment of Kitty Cheesebrow as the new Parks Commission member. Kitty appeared before the Council thanking them For their support and shared her background in parks planning and her desire to work with the City. Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to appoint Kitty Cheesebrow to the Parks and Recreation Commission. All aye. Motion Carried. STATE SENATOR JANE KRENTZ (LEGISLATIVE UPDATE) State Senator Jane Krentz appeared before the City Council and provided an update of the Minnesota legislative session. CONSENT AGENDA Haas made motion, Granger seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda: Approval of Claims Approve Annual Performance Review and Salary Adjustment (John Benson) Approve Public Works Department Organizational Chart Approve Compensation Time Payment to Public Works Director Approve 3.2 Beer License for Hugo Lions Club at Good Neighbor Days Approve Water Surface Use Permit for Ski Jump and Slalom Course on Round Lake (Mike Ball) Approve Hugo Fire Department Request to Prepare Specifications for Aerial Truck Approve Cigarette License Application from Oneka Ridge Golf Course Variance Request from Charlie & Kyle Timp to Construct a Deck on Property Located at 6153 145` Street All aye. Motion Carried. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the claims for May 20, 2002 as presented. APPROVE ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REVIEW AND SALARY ADJUSTMENT (JOHN BENSON) The City hired John Benson as its building inspector on May 9, 1988. John has worked very hard for the
