City Council meeting of June 17, 2002 <br />Page 7 <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, directing staff to inform parties interested in purchasing City <br />property that they should submit their proposal to the City prior to the July 15, 2002 City Council <br />meeting to allow staff to review prior to the meeting. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CALL FOR PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED CITY ASSESSMENT POLICY <br />At its June 3, 2002 and June 12, 2002 workshops, the Council discussed a new draft of a proposed City <br />street assessment policy. Council suggested some minor modifications and changes to the draft that staff <br />has made. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, to schedule a public hearing for July 15, 2002, Hugo City Hall, <br />at 7:00 pm, for the consideration and adoption of a new City street assessment policy. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />RESIDENT LETTER TO MAYOR <br />A City resident sent a letter to Mayor Miron regarding a semi parked on 15e Street and TH61 thereby <br />obstructing visionary access to the highway. The WCSO had already resolved this matter. The letter <br />also referred to potholes located on his street, specifically, at the end of his driveway. <br />Miron made motion, Granger seconded, directing the Public Works Department to respond to the <br />pothole complaint. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />RIVER CITY ASPHALT GRAVEL PIT RECLAMATION <br />City Attorney Dave Snyder and CD Director John Rask provided a brief update on work to date <br />regarding the additional reclamation work that needs to be completed by the owners of the River City <br />Asphalt gravel pit. <br />BI -MONTHLY CITY NEWSLETTER <br />In 2000, the Council accepted staffs recommendation to resume a quarterly City newsletter. Since that <br />time, the effectiveness and overwhelming support of residents and the Council alike, has prompted the <br />need to consider going to a bi-monthly newsletter from the current quarterly status. <br />Miron made motion, Puleo seconded, authorizing the production of a bimonthly City newsletter to allow <br />for the regular and consistent dissemination of City of Hugo and City Council information to residents. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
