City Council meeting of June 17, 2002
Page 6
APPROVE FINAL PLAT FOR CLEARWATER CREEK WENTEXI
At its April 15, 2002 meeting, the City Council approved the preliminary plat, site plan and variance for
eighteen condominium lots and three out lots on this 49.51 -acre property. The site plan approval allowed
122 town home units on the eighteen condominium lots. Staff reviewed the final plat for Clearwater Creek
and found it to be in substantial agreement with the approved preliminary plat. As such, staff recommended
the Council approve the final plat and development agreement for Clearwater Creek.
Granger made motion, Puleo seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 2002-28 APPROVING FINAL PLAT AND
DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT FOR THE CLFARWATER CREEK SUBDIVISION.
VOTING AYE: Granger, Puleo, Miron
VOTING NAY: Petryk
Motion Carried.
DISCUSSION ON BLACKTOPPING OF 132ND STREET (LEE ROEBKE)
Mr. Lee Roebke appeared before Council regarding his interest in the blacktopping of 132nd Street. Mr.
Roebke lives in the White Oak Heights subdivision. The Council discussed this issue extensively in
2000, and the Council determined that the project was not feasible and did not proceed with the petition
submitted by the residents. Additionally, the Dust Lok product has been applied to 13td Street in 2001,
as well as in 2002. This product is designed to reduce the amount of dust and stabilize the roadbed.
The City Engineer and City Attorney advised that the City not deviate from its adopted road standards.
Mr. Roebke was informed that the City was holding a public hearing on July 15, 2002 to consider
adoption of a street assessment policy.
REVIEW OF CUP (DAN RAMBERG)
Mr. Ramberg, owner of Woodloch Stables, solicited Council's opinion regarding the possibility of
Northwest Saddle Club purchasing 25 acres from him to set up their operation. They are considering
selling their property in Lino Lakes and need a new site. Should Mr. Ramberg sell any of his property,
his CUP would be subject to review. The Council expressed no objection to the proposal, and felt that a
horse operation was preferable to residential development in the rural area.
Miron made motion, Granger seconded, directing staff to send a letter to Mr. Ramberg indicating the
Council's favorable acceptance to the proposal to have the Northwest Saddle Club relocate to his
property.
All aye. Motion Carried.
SALE OF BEIP LAND TO DEVELOPERS
At its June 12, 2002 workshop, the Council listened to CD John Rask as he explained a number of offers
that had been made for the City's 13 -acre parcel of land in the BEIP. As Council is aware, the sale of
land is important to the City in two ways: 1) funds are needed to retire the bond payments; and 2) the
sooner the land is sold, the sooner a building can be built and taxes generated.
