MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF APRIL 2.2001 <br />Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM <br />PRESENT: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />City Administrator, Michael Ericson <br />Community Development Director, John Rask <br />City Attorney, Dave Snyder <br />City Engineer, Dave Mitchell <br />Community Development Assistant, Michele Lindau <br />MINUTES FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 19.2001 <br />Petryk made motion, Haas seconded, to approve the minutes for the City Council meeting of March <br />19, 2001, as submitted. <br />Ayes: Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />Abstain: Granger <br />Motion carried. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Truck Traffic in Regards to Road Restrictions <br />Soil Storage Agreement for Williams's Property <br />Update on Katie Poirier Legislation <br />JD2 Meetings and Scheduling <br />Peloquin Industrial Park <br />Petryk made motion, Haas seconded, to set the agenda with the above additions. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MNDNR, RCWD, AND BWSR OFFICIALS JD2 TASK FORCE <br />As requested by Council at its special meeting on March 26, 2001, staff invited policy makers from <br />the MnDNR, RCWD, and BWSR to the April 2, 2001 meeting so the Council could extend an official <br />invitation to the policymakers from the state and local agencies to join with the City in creating a blue <br />ribbon task force to develop a storm water management plan for JD2 to be completed within 60 days. <br />This committee would include representatives from the above three agencies, City staff, and two <br />members of the City Council, who would be appointed on a rotating basis. <br />Due to a possible conflict of interest, Mayor Miron turned the gavel over to Acting Mayor, Chuck <br />Haas. <br />Kurt Ulrich, Assistant Commissioner for Administration for the MnDNR, expressed his willingness <br />and anxiousness to negotiate in good faith. Jim Leroux, RCWD Board member, introduced RCWD <br />Administrator Kate Drewry, and Board member Dean Bratten, who had been on the Board for the past <br />2-%2 years, and said their goal was to work with the City and be proactive in creating a plan. Steve <br />Woods, Minnesota Board of Water & Soil Resources said the agency remains available to help arrive <br />at some sort of solution. <br />
