City Council meeting of January 3, 2000 Page 5 YEAR 2000 BOARD OF APPEALS MEETING DATE The Council considered a letter from the Washington County Assessor recommending that the City of Hugo conduct its Board of Adjustment meeting to consider appeals to the assessor's determination of property valuations on Thursday, May 4, 2000, at 10:00 am. The Council approved of the date. BALD EAGLE INDUSTRIAL PARK (MITIGATION PLAN) The Council considered a memorandum from the City Administrator regarding options in mitigating wetlands in the Bald Eagle Industrial Park, as well as a draft memorandum from Hugo to the regulatory agencies in response to their request for additional information on the City's mitigation plans. The area to be mitigated consists of 13.22 acres, of which 3.91 acres are to be filled, and the remaining 9.31 acres to remain unsaleable. Petryk made motion, Stoltzman seconded, to pursue Option B to fill 3.91 acres of wetland. .. Petryk and Stoltzman withdrew their motion. Petryk made motion, Haas seconded, to pursue Option B to fill 3.91 acres of wetland, and the engineer set up a mitigation strategy in the best interest of the City. All aye. Motion Carried. WATER TREATMENT PLANT TOUR The Council considered a memorandum from the City's Public Works Director organizing a tour of the Apple Valley Treatment Plant, well/athletic field, and SCADA system on January 12, 2000, at 6:00 pm. Stoltzman made motion, Petryk seconded, to schedule a special Council meeting for January 12, 2000. at 6:00 pm, for a tour of the Apple Valley Treatment Plan. All aye. Motion Carried. CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT WORKSHOP Councilman Haas suggested the Council hold a workshop to consider needed capital improvements in the City: City Hall, Oakshore Park P.I., Peloquin Industrial Park, Well tower site/athletic complex, etc. Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to hold a Council workshop on January 24, 2000, at 7:00 pm, to discuss capital improvements.
