City Council meeting of January 24, 2000
Page 2
Council member Barnes brought the need to reconsider making public improvements to
the Oakshore Park subdivision. The City Administrator stated that he would provide cost
estimates for updating the engineering feasibility report for the project, and preparation of
a proposed assessment roll at a future Council meeting.
Mayor Stoltzman posed the question whether the Council was going to purchase grounds
maintenance equipment, and hire an employee to mow grass and perform other
landscaping functions, or continue to contract out for these services. The City's
maintenance supervisor was directed to prepare a cost estimate for the acquisition of
landscaping equipment and payroll cost for Council consideration.
The Council discussed the need to repair sidewalks along TH61 in the City's commercial
district. The Administrator was directed to provide the Council with background
information for preparation of a sidewalk ordinance for the community.
Council member Barnes presented the Council with a draft letter to be published in the
Hugonian, outlining the City Council's position on its litigation with the RCWD and
DNR over JD2. Council member Petryk stated that she could not support the letter, and
though she does not oppose publishing, did not want to have her name included as a
signatory. Petryk presented her own draft letter, which was discussed. Councilman Haas
volunteered to try to work the two letters into one document that would be supported by
all Council members.
Leroux made motion, Petryk seconded, to adjourn at 10:05 pm.
All aye. Motion Carried.
Robert A. Museus
City Administrator
