City Council meeting of February 22, 2000 <br />Page 6 <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR SEARCH <br />Barnes made motion, Stoltzman seconded, that the Council short-list administrator candidates on <br />March 7, 2000, Fire Hall, at 7:00 pm, and meet with finalists at an all -day session on March 11, <br />2000, Fire Hall, at 9:00 am. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />REAL ESTATE FOR SALE ALONG TH61 <br />Mayor Stoltzman questioned whether the Council would be interested in purchasing homes along <br />TH61 for future planning purposes. The City could hire a property manager, or remove any <br />possible liability to the City, and have the building leveled. <br />Haas made motion, Barnes seconded, to obtain an appraisal for the resident for sale along TH61, <br />and direct the Administrator to prepare a policy to obtain such property. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />BUSINESS EXCHANGE <br />Councilman Haas referenced a program that the City of Shoreview uses to bring their business and <br />Council together, and felt that this type of program would be beneficial to the City of Hugo. A <br />reserved day and time would need to be established. Councilman Haas agreed to take the initiative <br />and coordinate such a program with staff. <br />LIQUOR LICENSE FINE (BOGATTY) <br />Councilman Leroux suggested that the City needed to act consistent in levying civil penalties <br />against liquor license holders in the City, and felt that Mr. Bogatty, proprietor of Ricci's Saloon, <br />should be reimbursed fine money to be consistent with those levied against Carpenter's. <br />Haas made motion, Stoltzman seconded, to adjust the civil penalty against Ricci's Saloon to be <br />consistent with penalty levied against Carpenter's, and reimburse Mr. Bogatty $1,250.00. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Haas, Stoltzman <br />VOTING NAY: Petryk <br />Motion Carried. <br />DWI VEHICLE FORFEITURE <br />Attorney Galler stated that the owner of a 1990 Chevy S 10, forfeited because of DWI, wanted to <br />purchase the vehicle. <br />Haas made motion, Stoltzman seconded, authorizing staff to establish a value for the forfeited <br />vehicle, and negotiate to sell to the original owner. All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
