City Council meeting of April 17, 2000 <br />Page 5 <br />TRANSPORTATION PLAN <br />The Council previously requested that the City's Transportation Plan be amended to provide <br />guidance on the future development of TH61. The City Engineer provided the Council with <br />Appendix B, addressing additional concerns. It was the consensus of the Council that the City take a <br />hard look at downtown development, in light of proposed changes to TH61. It was concluded that <br />downtown business owners should also be brought into these discussions. No further action was <br />taken. <br />NEW CITY HALL (DISCUSSION) <br />Councilman Jim Leroux, chairperson of the City's City Hall Building Committee, requested the <br />Council establish a date to visit other city halls in the area. Mr. Leroux also updated the Council on <br />Committee discussions, stating that no formal decisions have been made relative to the new facility. <br />Clerk Creager will establish site visits, and provide the Council with an itinerary at their meeting on <br />April 24". <br />RUSH LINE TASK FORCE <br />Attorney Galler advised the Council that there are "unknown" costs attached to the Joint Powers <br />Agreement regarding the Rush Line Corridor Task Force. The Council opted to delay any action on <br />the Agreement. No further action was taken. <br />SUBWAY PARKING <br />Mayor Stoltzman surveyed the Council about how they felt about allowing parking on the County <br />easement in front of the establishment. The property owner felt they should be able to use the <br />easement as the Hugo Feed Mill was allowed the use the County's easement for their business. <br />Subway stated that they would agree to exchange a portion of their area for trail users' parking. The <br />Council could not reach a consensus to Subway's request. <br />BEAVER PONDS LIFT STATION EASEMENTS <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, that the City Attorney be directed to prepare the paperwork <br />necessary to make an offer to Warren Arcand to purchase an easement necessary to construct the lift <br />station for Beaver Pond at a per -acre rate. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Stoltzman made motion, Barnes seconded, that the same financial offer be made to Kevin Peltier to <br />purchase an easement for the Beaver ponds lift station at a per acre rate. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
