City Council meeting of November 6, 2000
Page 10
The MLCCS is used to identify, classify, and map vegetative cover types. The end product is a GIS -
based map that provides a detailed inventory of vegetation cover types within the community.
Leroux made motion, Petryk seconded, authorizing SEH to complete additional work on the MLCCS
RELEAF GRANT USE FOR MINNESOTA LAND COVER CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM with a
not -to -exceed amount of $6,400, which is the amount of the grant award received from the MnReleaf
Reimbursable Grant Program.
All aye. Motion Carried.
PROPOSAL FOR CITY COMPENSATION SCHEDULE
In preparation of the City's annual review of salaries and performance reviews, the City Administrator
discovered that the City does not have a formalized pay schedule, nor does it have updated job
descriptions. Although the City has been in compliance with the State's pay equity program, the
Finance Director has used a state job match as the City's tool in submitting employee job title
classifications and salaries for approval by the State. To insure that the City is proactively planning
for the future in hiring employees, and providing market rates salaries, the City Administrator
proposed to have a compensation study completed by a local human resource firm, Helping
Minnesota Cities, Inc. Paul Ness, former employee of the LMC, has worked with numerous
Minnesota cities in developing pay equity plans.
Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to approve an agreement with Helping Minnesota Cities, Inc.,
at a not -to -exceed price of $4,847.75.
All aye. Motion Carried.
RECESS
Leroux made motion, Barnes seconded, to recess tonight's meeting at 10:35 pm until November 7,
2000, American Legion, at 7:30 pm, and November 8, 2000, at 3:00 pm.
All aye. Motion Carried.
i
Mary Creager
City erk
