City Council meeting of December 18, 2000 <br />Page 2 <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Haas, Leroux, Petryk <br />ABSTAINED: Stoltzman <br />Motion Carried. <br />PRESENTATION OF PLAQUE TO MARVIN LAVALLE <br />Mayor Stoltzman recognized Marvin LaValle, thanking him for his supporting while he served as <br />Mayor of the City of Hugo. The plaque was paid and presented by the Mayor at his own expense. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Haas made motion, Leroux seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda: <br />Approval of Claims <br />Approval of 2001 City Engineer Rate Schedule for Professional Services <br />Fire Relief Pension Adjustment Ratification <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the claims for December 18, 2000 as presented. <br />APPROVAL OF 2001 CITY ENGINEER RATE SCHEDULE FOR PROFESSIONAL <br />SERVICES <br />At its specially called meeting on December 12, 2000, the City Council agreed to recommend to the <br />new City Council the appointment of the City Engineer, Dave Mitchell, and the firm of SEH. As <br />such, the City Engineer submitted a proposed rate table for the year 2001, which will replace the rate <br />table submitted on April 3, 2000. City staff recommended the Council approve the new 2001 City <br />Engineer's Rate Schedule for Professional Services. <br />FIRE RELIEF PENSION ADJUSTMENT RATIFICATION <br />The Hugo Fire Department Relief Association considered an adjustment to its annual pension, which <br />is currently at $2,000 per year of service. At its most recent meeting, the Hugo Fire Department <br />Relief Association approved an increase to $2,300 per year of service. The Relief Association <br />requested Council ratification of this pension adjustment. City staff recommended its approval, <br />based on a fully funded pension program, and the amount is still under the state maximum of $2,500 <br />per year of service. <br />APPROVAL OF LIQUOR LICENSES AND RELATED LICENSES FOR 2001 <br />City staff received renewal applications from all liquor license holders and related businesses in the <br />City. City staff recommended Council approve the all licenses for the year 2001 subject to payment <br />of all appropriate fees and taxes, and submission of proof of insurance. <br />
