City Council meeting of January 4, 1999 <br />Page 4 <br />specifications, at an estimated cost of $60,000. A lengthy discussion ensued regarding ways to <br />reduce the City's share of the improvement cost. Councilman Haas submitted prepared topics to <br />investigate alternative approaches to reduce cost to the general fund. Council member Petryk felt that <br />the City could implement an infiltration system rather than storm sewers, and reduce the width of <br />roads. Council member Barnes was not confident that the infiltration system would work. <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, directing the City Engineer to obtain estimates from three (3) <br />firms to provide soil borings for roads in the Oakshore Park subdivision. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE REGULATIONS <br />At the City Council meeting of December 28, 1998, Council considered adoption of the revised land - <br />use regulations for the City, and tabled consideration and action on such regulations until this <br />evening's meeting. As the Council had just received the revised document at tonight's meeting, the <br />following motion was made: <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to table this matter until January 19, 1999, to allow time for <br />Council review of the revised document. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />129TH STREET ASSESSMENTS <br />At the City Council meeting of December 21, 1998, the Council conducted a public hearing to <br />consider adopting a proposed assessment roll for the extension of municipal sanitary sewer and water <br />mains along 129th Street, from the north line of Europa Trail to the east line of Elmcrest Avenue, for <br />a total amount of $144,013.28. The Council directed staff to recalculate the assessments based on <br />comments received at the hearing, and tabled action on the assessment until this evening's meeting. <br />In order to provide adequate notice of the continued public hearing, notice of the Council's proposed <br />consideration of the revised assessment roll has been mailed to property owners for consideration at <br />the Council meeting of January 19, 1999. <br />Leroux made motion, Haas seconded, to table this matter until the City Council meeting of January <br />19, 1999. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />BOARD OF REVIEW <br />The Council approved April 29, 1999, at 10:00 as the City's date to conduct the Board of Review. <br />
