MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF JANUARY 19.1999 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Walter Stoltzman at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Barnes, Haas, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />City Administrator, Robert Museus <br />City Attorney Representative, Sue Olson <br />City Engineer Representative, Paul Hornby <br />City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager <br />ADDITIONS TO AGENDA <br />Appointments to Board of Adjustments <br />Leroux made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda: <br />City Council minutes for January 4, 1999 <br />General Claims for January 19, 1999 <br />Mahtomedi School District (Athletic Needs Study) <br />Hockey Circle Pines Centennial Youth Assn (Charitable Gambling License) <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />TFI : 1 i11aIIiZi�� : I iI i r 1 I <br />The Hugo Parks Commission considered a request from the Mahtomedi school district to share in the <br />cost of preparing an Athletic Facility Needs Study for the district. The results of this Study will <br />provide information to the Parks Commission to help development of the community's park system. <br />This study is timely as the WBL school district recently completed a similar analysis, which the City <br />contributed to. The Parks Commission recommended that the City contribute $500 towards the <br />Study. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the City providing the Mahtomedi school district <br />$500 to help pay for an Athletic Facility Needs Study. <br />CIRCLE PINES CENTENNIAL YOUTH HOCKEY ASSN (GAMBLING LICENSE) <br />The Centennial Youth Hockey Association, P.O. Box 356, Circle Pines, MN., requested a Premise <br />Permit Renewal and lawful Gambling License to sell pulltabs at The End Zone Bar & Grill, 13891 <br />Forest Boulevard. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Lawful Gambling License and <br />waiver of the 30 -day waiting period, as requested. <br />LOC REDUCTION (SUNSET LAKE RIDGE) <br />The Council considered a letter from the City Engineer recommending that the letter of credit <br />requirement for the Sunset Lake Ridge subdivision be reduced to $2,000, in recognition of work <br />performed to date. Public improvements for the project are substantially complete, except for some <br />site -restoration work that will be required in the spring. Council member Barnes questioned whether <br />the City should retain 25% of the construction cost for one year to assure corrections are made to the <br />road, if necessary. It was her desire to discuss this matter with the City Engineer at the next meeting. <br />
