City Council meeting of January 19, 1999
Page 2
Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to table until February 1, 1999.
All aye. Motion Carried.
WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE (CLINTON COP)
Sheriff Tim Frank of the Washington County Sheriffs Office was present at the meeting to discuss an
opportunity for the City to hire another law enforcement officer through a program partially funded
by the federal government. The Council supported the hiring of an additional deputy for the City.
Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, requesting that the Washington County Sheriff add another
deputy for Hugo and proceed with the COPS application, along with a letter describing reasons for
the deputy's removal in 1998.
All aye. Motion Carried.
. FENCE VIEWER REPORT
Councilman Tun Leroux was appointed by the Council as a fence viewer to resolve a fence dispute
between Allen and Linda Marcu, 15350 Everton Avenue, and Martha Peltier, 15367 Everton Avenue.
Both were provided with a copy of Mr. Leroux's report and recommendations.
Barnes made motion, Haas seconded, to accept the report and recommendations as submitted by
fence viewer, James Leroux.
All aye. Motion Carried.
BEAVER PONDS DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT
The Council considered a revised Development Agreement between the City of Hugo and Oakwood
Land Development Co., for the Beaver Ponds subdivision. The final plat for phase one of this
development was approved by the Council on September 21, 1998. Since that time, it has been
determined that the sanitary sewer lift station planned for Beaver Ponds is not a functional
requirement for phase one of the project, and the revised Development Agreement allows Oakwood
until July 1, 2000 to construct this facility. Future phases of this development will be dependent upon
construction of the lift station. After some discussion regarding the park to be located in the
development, Mr. Peterson agreed to do whatever was reasonably necessary for installation for
soccer fields, etc.
Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to approve the Development Agreement, between Oakwood
Land Development and the City of Hugo, for the Beaver Ponds subdivision, as amended.
All aye. Motion Carried.
