City Council meeting of December 13, 1999 <br />Page 2 <br />Councilman Haas presented a recommendation to amend the City's year 2000 budget so that there <br />would be no increase in the City's urban tax rate. This would be acomplished by lowering the budget <br />for the JD2 litigation to $60,000, with the remaining cost for this project to come from the City's <br />capital improvement fund. In addition, the Community Development Department budget would be <br />adjusted, removing the proposed Community Development Director and assistant positions, and <br />replacing with a contract for services in the amount of $36,000. <br />Petryk made motion, Haas seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1999-22, A RESOLUTION <br />APPROVING PAYABLE 2000 FINAL LEVY CERTIFICATION. <br />VOTING AYE: Haas, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />VOTING NAY: Barnes <br />Motion Carried. <br />Petry' k make motion, Haas seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1999-23, A RESOLUTION <br />APPROVING THE GENERAL FUND BUDGET FOR THE 2000 FISCAL YEAR. <br />VOTING AYE: Haas, Petryk, Stoltzman <br />VOTING NAY: Barnes <br />Motion Carried. <br />The Mayor then requested that Council members review -the draft position profile and job <br />announcement for the City Administrator provided by Sathe and Associates and return the comments to <br />Mr. Sathe. <br />Given Council interest in attending the court hearing on a petition for Summary Judgment to dismiss <br />the City's lawsuit against the Rice Creek Watershed District over JD2, the Mayor recommended the <br />Council recess this evening's meeting to allow all Council members, who desire, to attend. <br />Stoltzman made motion, Petryk seconded, to recess the meeting until Friday, December 17, 1999, at <br />10:00 am, at the Washington County Government Center. <br />All aye.
