City Council meeting of January 20, 1998 <br />Page 3 <br />treatment standards to current state requirements. The ordinance adopting the County's <br />Individual Sewage Treatment standards, also implements triennial inspections of septic <br />systems, as required by Met Council. In may be that Washington County will assume this <br />responsibility on behalf of townships and cities. This matter will be clarified by the time of <br />hearing for adoption of the ordinance on March 2, 1998. <br />Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, to schedule a public hearing for March 2, 1998, at <br />7:05PK to consider adoption of an ordinance adopting the recently -revised County <br />Individual Sewage Treatment Ordinance. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />LOCK-OUT/TAG-OUT POLICY <br />The Council considered an amendments to the City's Workplace Safety Policy regarding <br />lock-out/tag-out procedures. This amendment is required by OSHA, and staff <br />recommended Council approval. <br />Miron made motion, Goiffon seconded, to approve the amendments to the City's <br />Workplace Safety Policy regarding lock -out -tag -out procedures, as submitted. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />DEPUTY CLERK POSITION <br />The City's deputy clerk resigned her position with the City, effective January 16, 1998. <br />Staff sought Council approval to publish the enclosed advertisement for the position <br />vacancy with no change to the recently -revised job description. <br />Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, authorizing staff to advertise for the Deputy <br />Clerk position. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />COMMUTER RAIL REPORT <br />The Council was updated by the City Administrator on discussion at the state and regional <br />level regarding the operation of commuter -rail service in the metropolitan area, including a <br />line between Forest Lake and St. Paul, running through the City of Hugo. The City <br />Administrator's report on the current status of commuter -rail in the area, as well as his <br />recommendation for reacting to the state and regional initiatives was *provided to the <br />Council. <br />
