This would
save the City approximately $65,000/yr.
2. Retain the four deputies, but not to backfill these deputies to cover sick leave or
vacation time, except in the periods of peak demand. This would save the City
approximately $30,000/yr.
3. Split one of the City's current four deputies with the City of Forest Lake. Sheriff
Frank has indicated that Forest Lake Township is interested in such an arrangement.
This would save the City approximately $30,000/yr.
At this time, a number of residents expressed their desire to keep the existing number of
deputies working in Hugo intact, and their opinion as to why the Fire Hall referendum was
defeated. Because of the length of the meeting, the following motion was made:
Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, to recess tonight's meeting at 11:OOPM until
Wednesday, February 18, 1998, at 7:30PM.
All aye.
