City Council meeting of February 18, 1998 <br />Page 2 <br />Leroux made motion, Barnes seconded, to schedule a public hearing for March 16, 1998, <br />at 7:05PK to consider adoption of an ordinance establishing fees for multiple false <br />alarms. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />FIRST FLOOR ELEVATIONS (DISCUSSION) <br />The City Council directed City staff to prepare background information regarding the need <br />and potential of raising the City standards for first floor elevations, in regard to surface <br />water conditions. The Council reviewed a report prepared by Pete wllenbring; the City's <br />surface water management engineer. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, to table this matter until March 2, 1998, after a <br />related meeting of February 24, 1998. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />1998 BUDGET AMENDMENT <br />At the City Council meeting of February 2, 1998, the City Council received a proposed <br />resolution amending the City's 1998 budget by transferring approximately $50,000 from <br />various general fund accounts to a Fire Hall Capital Improvement Account. There were <br />many hours spent on discussion of the Fire Hall and potential reductions in the 1998 <br />budget. <br />Barnes made motion to adopt RESOLUTION 1998-6, A RESOLUTION AMENDING <br />THE GENERAL FUND BUDGET FOR THE 1998 FISCAL YEAR IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $40,670.00. <br />Motion failed for lack of second. <br />Goiffon made motion, Leroux seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1998-6, A <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING THE GENERAL FUND BUDGET FOR THE 1998 <br />FISCAL YEAR IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000.00. <br />VOTING AYE: Goiffon, Leroux, Miron <br />VOTING NAY: Arcand, Barnes <br />Motion Carried. <br />
